All of this being said, the argument I keep hearing over and over is that his First Amendment rights were violated.  They absolutely were not violated.  Juan Williams is a free man.  He didn’t go to jail because he expressed his opinion.  He was fired.  He maintained his First Amendment right to free speech.  He still does.  He is free to express any opinion he has.  Being free to express your opinion, does not guarantee that you will be given a platform to express your opinion.  Your right to free speech does not include a right to be heard by the masses.  A person’s right to free speech does not mean a person can say whatever they want without there being any consequences.  Disagree?  Try this Monday morning then.  Go into your boss’s office and tell him (or her…..don’t get all politically correct on me here!) that his wife is fat and ugly and really shouldn’t breed because the world is full of enough  miscreants already.  Do you think you’ll leave that office still being employed?  Chances are you will be fired.  You have the absolute right to say that to your boss and he has the absolute right to fire you.  As long as the government doesn’t come in and jail you for saying such nasty things about his wife, your First Amendment rights have not been violated.

I am not comparing those comments to what Juan Williams said at all.  I am just making the point that your First Amendment right of free speech can be  upheld and you can still be fired.

As I already said, I don’t think Juan Williams should have been fired over his comments about being nervous about being on a flight with muslims dressed in “muslim garb.”  However, this is clearly not a First Amendment issue.

For those of you who have read ProudConservative.com for a long time, you’ll remember I used to have a list of Republicans who needed to be voted out of office, preferably in a primary.  Mike Castle, O’Donnell’s opponent,  the Republican party establishment choice was always near the top of that list for the numerous bad votes he had given on various issues.  He is a RINO through and through.

O’Donnell on the other hand is a solid conservative who will fight for the conservative agenda.  She is taking heat from the Republican elite in her own state and hasn’t backed down.  She will certainly not back down to the Democrats and the RINO’s in the Senate.

Delaware….this is your chance to rid yourselves (and the rest of us) of Mike Castle.  Vote Christine O’Donnell.  O’Donnell has also been endorsed by Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint and Mark Levin amongst many others.

Fran Healy, special adviser to the police commissioner, said, “Officers’ safety comes first, and not infringing on people’s rights comes second.”  I’m all for officer’s safety….believe me….but that doesn’t give this department the ability to take away our rights.

I have been voting in CT for a long time.  The truth is….this is the first time I will vote FOR a Senatorial candidate as opposed to voting AGAINST another candidate.  Unfortunately, in CT, we don’t get many conservatives running in the Republican races.  We usually get moderates or even worse liberal Republicans….truthfully they may as well as run as Democrats.  However, Peter Schiff bucks that trend.  He understands the principles of limited government and liberty that this country was founded upon.  He has the experience in economics that few in the federal government actually understand.

His main opponent is another CT liberal Republican….Linda McMahon.  She has spent millions and millions of dollars to try to buy this seat.  Almost as bad, is the Republican party in CT has endorsed her which is almost the kiss of death in my book seeing how liberal the CT Republican party tends to be.  McMahon will be eaten alive by Blumenthal, the likely Democrat candidate.  And even if she were to somehow beat him, the truth of the matter is she would still be one of these RINO’s that votes with the liberal Democrats on way too many occasions.  This is not just my opinion.  She has donated thousands and thousands of dollars to the Democrats.  She has announced her support for many of the Obama administration’s policies that are further bankrupting this country.

Peter Schiff will be the most conservative Senator coming from CT for as long as I can remember.  In a time when the country’s financial house is in ruins, we need as many people in the Senate (and the House for that matter) that understand the limited role the federal government was supposed to play.  We need people that understand that the more the federal government gets involved in most issues, the worse the situation becomes.  We need people that understand and have actually read the Constitution.  And we need people that will actually read the bills they are voting on.  I believe Peter Schiff is one of these people and I encourage all my friends in CT to vote for him on August 10, 2010 in the Republican primary.
