One of the questions I get most often is, "What can I do?"  What can any of us do to defend liberty and freedom and promote conservative principles? 

There are many things we can do.  Unfortunately, not all of us have the time, money and/or resources to do some of the bigger projects.  So I just want to focus a few quick minutes on the one thing we can all do.

ProudConservative.com.  That's the name of this site.  That's the one easy thing we can all do.  Be proud of your conservatism.  Be proud that you are a believer in limited government.  Be proud to stand for the ideas behind the Founding Fathers.  Be proud for wanting our elected officials to actually follow the Constitution.  Whatever conservative beliefs you have, whether it be being pro-life to being pro-military to believing in personal responsibility and limited self government, be proud of your convictions.

For far too long, conservatives have been too polite when it comes to mixed company.....liberals and conservatives.  Many conservatives keep quiet at parties and at work and anywhere people discuss the issues.  Many conservatives let the liberals speak their mind freely without challenging their thought process or their lack of facts.  They just remain silent and in their head say, "That's not true."  or "What a crock?" 

Well it's time to speak out loud and proud.  If you hear someone calling the tea parties racist....call them on it.  If you hear someone talking about Obama's policies as successes.....challenge them.  When your newspapers and newscasters on tv slant so far to the left that you can't take it any longer, send them a letter or an email.  This can all be done rationally and calmly.  I know because I do it nearly every day.  It doesn't have to turn into a shouting match.  As a matter of fact, that usually does little to advance conservatism.  But a well structured argument using the facts will beat liberal arguments every time.  

To that end, you need to keep informed as best you can on the issues of the day.  We can't all know every little detail about every bill coming out of the congress.  We can't all know about every crackpot in the current administration.  I know I can't.  But I try to research the issues and what both sides are saying.  There are a ton of resources to use on the internet alone.  I try to stay as well informed as possible.  But the core conservative principles don't change much.  If the government, under any administration....Republican or Democrat, tries to enact policies that are unconstitutional and expand the government in unwise ways, it must be held accountable.

I'm rambling a little....I tend to do that sometimes.  But I hope I am making my point.  The one thing I hope I am encouraging with my site is for people to say, "Hey, you know what?  I'm a conservative and I'm proud to be one."  I hope that I am facilitating the courage it takes to take a stand in a room full of liberals and make a statement...even if you are standing alone.  Be a proud conservative and be vocal.  It's the one thing we can all do.

Just a few weeks ago, liberals were in in an uproar that conservatives didn't want President Obama's speech and accompanying worksheets and assignments to be anywhere near their kids. The conservative argument was that the assignments that went along with the speech smelled of indoctrination. We were called conspiracy nuts and of course racist for not wanting our kids indoctrinated.

The above video was recorded in an elementary school in N.J. But noooooooo.........there's no indoctrination going on here. None at all!!!! Yeah, and I've got some pristine land in the Florida everglades to sell you if you believe that one.

First up we have MoveOn's video about health insurance companies and their executives.



My friends over at IdiotsforObama made a great response video to MoveOn's propaganda. They bring to light all the hypocrisy and lies of the video. I actually liked most Will Ferrell movies. But I should stop going to them. I mean, according to this video, it's evil to become rich and I wouldn't want to be part of any activity that might make Will Ferrell even more money. It's funny that these Hollywood stars [o.k. well some of them are stars. The others...not so much.] who make money doing something that no one needs to survive would demonize people who provide health insurance which has paid for health care that has saved millions of lives.

And for the record, there has never been a time that 80% of the American people supported a public....government option. That is just a complete and total fabrication.

I said it a week ago in my quick blog about Joe Wilson calling President Obama out with "You lie!" during his speech.  My exact words in that blog were:

"Perhaps Obama was telling the truth because they plan to give amnesty to all the illegal aliens, and then give them Obamacare. Thus, technically, he wouldn't be lying."

When I was a teenager, there was this small little club in Connecticut called The Anthrax that the hardcore and punk and ska bands would play at just about every weekend.  There were white kids and black kids and hispanic kids and just about every race of kid you could imagine at these shows.  Some of the bands that played had all white members.  Some of the bands that played had all black members.  And some of the bands that played had a mixture.  No one cared what color the people playing the music were.  No one cared what color the kid next to you was.  We were all there to see a good show and have some fun. 

There were a few kids that made T-shirts that said, "END RACISM" on them and we bought them up.  There were tons of those shirts made and you would see them all the time at the shows.  I remember thinking, "Why the hell are people such jerks?  Who cares what color someone is.  As long as they are cool to me, I'll be cool to them."  White, brown, black, yellow, purple.....it didn't matter.  I wore my "END RACISM" shirt with pride.  I also remember thinking, "END RACISM....it's a nice thought, but there are too many knuckleheads out there who only see the color of skin for racism to end."

I was wrong!  Racism has ended.  Racism is gone.  Racism is dead.

Don't get me wrong, there are still a bunch of morons out there who base their beliefs, actions and yes , even hatred on skin color.  We have to come up with a new word for these sick people because "racist" no longer has the meaning it once did.

Racism now means disagreeing with a President or any politician who happens to be black.  Racism is now defined as saying, "You lie!" to a black person when he is not telling the truth.  Racism is getting together to protest government policies that we disagree with, as we have a right to under the Constitution.  Racism also encompasses not wanting your taxes raised.  Racism is wanting our government to actually follow the Constitution.  Racism is pointing out that the people surrounding our President are radicals.  Racism is not wanting to fund corrupt organizations such as ACORN with taxpayer money.  A racist is anyone who is not a liberal.  These days, a racist is anyone who believes in conservative ideals.  No, not because conservative ideals are based on skin color, because clearly they are not.  A conservative is a racist because the liberals say so.  A conservative is a racist because anchors on MSNBC say so.  A conservative is a racist because they don't bow to the alter of liberalism.

Since I started ProudConservative.com in 2005, I have received hundreds if not thousands of emails and messages calling me a racist.  My racist crime?  Having a website that promotes conservatism.  At first, I was shocked.  I mean I knew the stereotype that some ignorant people  have of conservatives, but I was amazed at the venom and vitriol sent my way....simply for promoting conservatism.  I even wrote an editorial a few years ago entitled, "Who are the real racists?" discussing why conservatives were not racist at all and that it was the liberals that were the true racists. 

The emails continued to come in over the years.  And each time a new one came in, the word "racist" diminished in meaning.  The word "racism" diminished in value.  I finally realized, the people calling me a racist have no idea what a racist truly is.  They have no idea what racism truly is.  But they did know that calling someone a racist would put a person on the defensive even if they had not a single racist bone in their body.  It was a word that struck fear into anyone who was called it because the original meaning of the word was so disgusting and so vile and so hateful, no one would want to be called one.

In order not to be called a racist, some people refrained from activities that might have caused them to be called a racist, even if there was no racism involved.  For instance, maybe calling a man who happens to be black, a liar.  Now if you are white, the liberals believe you can call another white person a liar if he is lying.  Heck, according to the liberals, if you are black you can call a white person a liar if he is lying.  However, no matter what, you may not call a black person a liar even if he is lying.  That is now racist.  That is now racism.

Well, I am here today to formally announce for all to see and read that I reject this notion of what racism is.  You see, I can tell a black man, just as I can tell a white man, that he is a liar if in fact he is one.  Calling someone a liar is not based on skin color.  Calling someone a liar is based upon whether or not that person tells the truth or not.  I can partake in the right to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances...whether that government happens to be headed by a black man or a white man.  Petitioning the government for a redress of grievances has nothing to do with the skin color of the President and everything to do with the policies being enacted by that President.

So continue to call me a racist.  Continue to call me part of a racist movement.  The words racist and racism no longer have the meaning they once did.  They no longer have any power or impact because they have been so misused by the left, that unfortunately they no longer have any meaning.  I say unfortunately, because as I said earlier, there are still a bunch of morons out there who base their beliefs, actions and yes , even hatred on skin color.   We need to come up for a new word for these imbeciles because racism is dead.

Former President Jimmy Carter, known anti-semite, had the nerve to call Rep. Joe Wilson a racist.  Joe Wilson simply said, "You lie!" when President Obama was lying.  Simple as that.

When asked a question at a town hall meeting in Atlanta, Carter responded, "I think it's based on racism.  There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president."

He continued, "Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care.  It's deeper than that."

No Mr. Carter.....we have no problem that Obama is black.  We do have serious issues with his policies and continued lying about his positions on the issues and THAT is why disagree with him.

For a man, Carter, who has such a hatred for Israel to call anyone a racist is laughable.

Let's be honest here. They ALL spend too much money...Democrats and Republicans. But clearly, the liberal Democrats of today have redefined "Wasteful spending." How about Washington D.C. gets back to spending our hard earned money only on the programs authorized in the enumerated powers of the Constitution?

The 9/12 D.C. March/Rally/Tea Party was a HUGE event. Of course, the so-called "main stream" media completely ignored it. The few news organizations that did spend a few moments on it, grossly underestimated the numbers of protesters. There was one guy on MSNBC saying like, "There are thousands, "perhaps" tens of thousands of people here." PERHAPS? Are you kidding me? The Daily Kooks were saying there were 15,000 people at the rally. Liberal blog after liberal blog claimed less than 50,000 people showed up. Anyone, liberal or conservative, with any sense of intellectual honesty, can clearly see by all the pictures from the day that there were at least 1 million people there. Do the liberal bloggers not realize how foolish they look trying to claim numbers like 15,000 - 50,000? It just shows how willingly they are to completely lie about anything.

This is a time lapse video of just the march. Now remember, not everyone participated in the march. Many protestors went straight to the lawn and the Capitol.



Do they still really want to claim 15,000 people? Please.....continue to lie. We will call you out faster than Rep. Joe Wilson called out President Obama! There are libs now questioning the authenticity of the time lapse video. They are claiming it is a fake or doctored or from another event. Can they explain away the following video? As soon as it starts the camera pans across the crowd. Is C-SPAN in on this conspiracy too? We all know what a right wing organization C-SPAN is!

Rep. Joe Wilson tells President Obama, "You lie!" after Obama claims his Obamacare won't cover illegal aliens. Perhaps Obama was telling the truth because they plan to give amnesty to all the illegal aliens, and then give them Obamacare. Thus, technically, he wouldn't be lying. Rep. Wilson apologized after the speech. I am wondering why he apologized. The Democrats have said much worse things during the 8 years of the Bush presidency. It was refreshing to see a Republican with some cajones!

His opponent raised over $11,000.00 in one hour after the speech. If you approve of Rep. Wilson calling Obama on his lie, and have a few extra bucks, make a donation to his campaign. You can do so HERE.

So evidently, dear leader Obama will be addressing the youths of our nation on Tuesday, September 8th while they are at school.  They have even sent out "suggested" ideas on how to use this speech to the children.  Here is an excerpt:

During the Speech:

• As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful. Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate. As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:

What is the President trying to tell me?

What is the President asking me to do?

What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?

• Students can record important parts of the speech where the President is asking them to do something. Students might think about: What specific job is he asking me to do? Is he asking anything of anyone else? Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?

• Students can record any questions they have while he is speaking and then discuss them after the speech. Younger children may need to dictate their questions.

After the Speech:

• Teachers could ask students to share the ideas they recorded, exchange sticky notes or stick notes on a butcher paper poster in the classroom to discuss main ideas from the speech, i.e. citizenship, personal responsibility, civic duty.
• Students could discuss their responses to the following questions:

What do you think the President wants us to do?

Does the speech make you want to do anything?

Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?

 

Will they be handing out Obama youth knives after the speech as well?  I will speaking to my daughters' school to see if they will be participating in this broadcast and EXACTLY what lesson-plans they intend to use.  If I get an unsatisfactory answer, you can bet my daughters will not be in school on Tuesday.  Thankfully, my son is in a private high school.

I have already been reading of countless parents who plan to give their children a Parentally Approved Skip Day.  I urge parents not to take this too lightly.  At the very least, make a call to your kid's school and just inquire about what will be taking place and what lesson plans will be used for the day.

UPDATE:

Don't they realize the web will catch all of this nonsense and report it to the citizens of this country?  How many times will they try pull the wool over our eyes?  They seem to get caught every time....no wonder Obama wants the power to shut down the internet!

The White House is already scrubbing the text from their so-called lesson plans.

 

UPDATE:

None of my kids were subjected to the speech today.  And for the record, because I have had some libs attack me over this, I would be against any President doing anything similar to what was originally proposed.  The school systems should be locally controlled and operated.  There is no reason for a sitting President to make a speech to all school children.  Education is not, or at least should not be, a federal issue.
