Take the day to share with your family and friends all that you are thankful for. A few things that I am thankful for: My wife and children. My family and friends. The men and women of our military. The opportunities I have because I live in the greatest nation on Earth. Our Founding Fathers had the courage to fight off a tyrannical government in order to establish a free nation. I am thankful that I am free to proudly display my conservatism and promote conservatism everyday. I am thankful to be an American.

Yes everyone.....I am still here. I am experiencing a bit of a political funk again. It's not simply because Obama won. Truthfully, I was expecting that. And even had McCain won....would that have really have been so much better for conservatives? I think I would have been in a political funk no matter who won the election. But as I said it is not only the election results. It's all the nonsense that lead up to the elections and all the crap that has gone on since the election. Bailout after bailout. Throwing good money after bad with no regards to the enumerated powers in the Constitution. The government is taking over industries and dictating what should and should not happen in other industries. AND the American public doesn't even bat an eye?!!!! And I'm not talking only about Democrats. How many so-called Republicans have hopped on the "Who care's about the Constitution? Let's do what we want to do regardless of if it's Constitutional or not" train.

This little rant is not aimed at the majority of the people that visit ProudConservative.com. My readers and customers and friends tend to be lovers of freedom and the Constitution. I've heard from so many of you that seem to be experiencing the same funk that I am feeling. We are all asking, "When is this insanity going to end? Is it going to end?"

After the election, I was trying to stay upbeat and positive. I am sill trying to stay positive. But our elected officials are making it harder and harder. This country and the spirit that created it is ill. I am not ready to say it is dying yet......but unless something is done soon, the United States that once was, will be on life support waiting for the libs to pull the plug.

So yes....I am still here. I will be fighting this socialism. I will be fighting this attempt to bring the United States toward some collectivism paradise nonsense. I will do what I can to promote liberty and freedom.....true liberty and freedom. I will do what I can to bring back the vision of our Founding Fathers. But I need this little bit of a break to regroup....to reorganize my thoughts....to try to wrap my head around what is going on here!

Just a quick note.  I'll be in Lake Placid, NY until Sunday night.  My son has a hockey tournament there.  What better place to go to forget about Tuesday's election.....the place where the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team beat the Russians and then went on to win the gold medal. It was the year of Ronald Reagan. It was the dawn of a new era in the United States. I can get lost in that for a few days and then it's back to work to find real conservative candidates to run in 2010.

Wish us luck and send good vibes towards NY on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for his team!

It's unofficially "official."  Sen. Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States of America.

I'll have more to say as time goes on, but let me say this very quickly.  I have already gotten emails and messages of despair.  No matter who is President of the United States, we are the greatest nation on Earth.  I say, "we are the greatest nation on Earth" because it is the hard working, talented and brave people of this nation that make this country great....not the President. 

So yes, it's o.k. to be bummed tonight.  It's o.k. to be bummed for a few days.  But get your heads on straight and get ready.  We are gong to have a lot of work to do to keep the socialist/marxist agenda at bay.  It is going to take all of us doing our due dilgence and paying attention to what is going on in our government to make sure that we do not let our nation fall completely to the socialists.  We must stand strong.  We must make our voices heard.  We must seek out new conservative candidates to run in 2010 and 2012. 

Hopefully, the Republican Party has learned a lesson in all of this.  You don't beat the Democrats by becoming more like them.  You beat the Democrats by being a true opposition party.  You beat them with true conservative principles, not watered down moderate ones.  

As I said, I'll have more to say in the upcoming days and weeks, but for now.....STAND STRONG, KEEP YOUR HEADS UP, AND BE PROUD TO BE CONSERVATIVES.  I have a sinking feeling this nation is going to need many strong conservatives in the upcoming 2 - 4 years.

So after months and months of struggling on how to vote as a proud conservative this election. I chose not to vote as a conservative but as an American. The only way I see my vote being cast as a conservative is that I voted for Palin and if McCain has to come along too, well then so be it.

Get out and vote everybody. Too many brave men and women have died to give us this most precious right. I don't care how long the lines are. I don't care what the weather is. I don't care if you have other things to do. Make time and vote. This is an important election. I don't care if you don't like McCain....everyone knows I don't. Vote for Sarah Palin. Vote against marxism. But be sure to vote today!
