MY ADVICE TO JOHN MCCAIN FOR TONIGHT'S DEBATE

John McCain and Barack Obama square off in this year's second presidential debate.  The format is that of a town hall meeting, which should play to McCain's strength and Obama's weakness.  However, Obama did not do a whole lot of stuttering and stammering in the first debate and McCain would be well advised to note that.  There was no knockout in the first debate and most people probably would have called their first debate a draw.  In other words, if you suspport Obama, you'll probably say he won.  If you support McCain, you'll probably say he won.  But the undecideds were probably still undecided after the debate.

John McCain had the chance to throw a few knockout punches but declined to do so.  He has put too much of his energy into so-called "bi-partisianship."  He needs to stop trying to please everyone and focus in on pleaseing his base and those undecided voters that are looking for a stark contrast between the candidates.  Has he noticed how popular Palin is?  He should be taking his cues from her and using her tactics.  She has not been afraid to point out the differences between the candidates.  She has not been shy about pointing out scandals and other blotches on Obama's record.  And the country loves her for it.

Sen McCain....take the fight to Obama.  Stop worrying about how the press sees you.  Stop worrying about what liberals think of you.  Your push for bipartisianship is not effective.  Fight for what you believe in and stop trying to build consensus.  Bring up Obama's ties with Ayers.  Bring up his ties Rev. Wright.  Bring up his ties with Acorn.  The country as a whole does not want someone this liberal and this radical to be president.  You have to go in and point out all of his weaknesses.  If you choose to continue to be so congenial, you will find yourself back in Arizona come Jan. 20th, 2009.
