JIM GILMORE DROPS OUT OF PRESIDENTIAL RACE
Jim Gilmore has officially ended his bid to receive the Republican nomination for the 2008 Presidential election. Gilmore's campaign issued a statement in which he said: "I have come to believe that it takes more than a positive vision for our nation's future to successfully compete for the presidency. I believe that it takes years of preparation to put in place both the political and financial infrastructure to contest what amounts to a one-day national primary in February."
He has stated that he may run for Governor of Virginia for a second time or he may run for the U.S. Senate seat if John Warner decides to retire. He has expressed interest in starting a political action committee to support Republicans running for the state senate and House of Delegate. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
