It was a simple amendment. Basically, it protected Americans who report suspicious activites to the authorites from lawsuits. We have been told since September 12, 2001 to report any suspicious activity. Many plots have been thwarted due to "ordinary" Americans reporting a situation that just didn't seem right. This amendment would ensure that Americans would be able to report strange activities without having to worry about losing their homes and their life savings in a lawsuit. However, the Democrats have killed the amendment. Who are they beholdent to? The trial lawyers? CAIR? What about the American people? The number one priority on the federal government is to protect the American people. The Democrats just made this country less safe.

First of all, an illegal activity is just that - illegal. We, as responsible American citizens, have the responsibility to report any and all illegal activity. We should have the right to report crime without fear of persecution, lawsuits, or other legal recourse. Especially when it comes to illegal immigrants. What gave them the right to sue us, who are in this country legally, when they are here illegally? Doesn't make sense, really...
